“Therefore, brethren, having boldness to enter the Holiest by the blood of Jesus, by a new and living way which He consecrated for us, through the veil, that is, His flesh, and having a High Priest over the house of God, let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith.”
Easter is the day we celebrate the resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ rising from the grave. It is the most important day on the Christian calendar. In a world often devoid of hope, the resurrection offers abundant hope for the living. This is the event that conquered sin… it conquered death… and it made it possible for you and me to have a personal relationship with God! Because of Jesus sacrifice, you and I don’t have to be chained with the shackles of sin. We are free to live the life God intended for us to have.
“I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me, though he may die, he shall live.” John 11:25
Jesus looked beyond all his suffering, shame and death that he knew was to come and focused on the joy that would come from his sacrifice. What a wonderful God we serve who honors sinners like us. He rejoices when we respond to him through repentance, love, and good works that bring honor and glory to him. Our risen Lord will give us a new heart and put a new spirit within us. He will give us new knowledge, new comfort, new peace, and a new life in Him.
“Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him, endured the cross, scorning its shame, and set down at the right hand of the throne of God.” Hebrews 12:2
It’s been such a long time since the resurrection of Christ but it’s the one thing that gives us hope. The one thing that makes our Christian life worth living. Everything about Christianity hinges on that one event in time. I pray that I always remember to tell others about what Christ did for me. God calls us to share the joy and victory of the resurrection of Christ with others. If you have put your faith in Christ, then Easter means that you will live forever in the presence of God.
“For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son, that whosoever believeth in him should perish, but have everlasting life.”
Wishing you a blessed Easter
