“Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness” Isaiah 5:20
Everything that is a lie begins and ends with Satan. We live in a world that pits good against evil, right against wrong. Today, young parents ask themselves…How do we teach our children right from wrong when the world that we live in seems so upside down? Most of us grew up in a world that was thoughtful, polite, kind, and generous and yes, simple. Today we face a complicated world that we can barely recognize. A society filled with selfishness, greed, sexual perversion, corruption and dishonesty. We are living today in the same days of the great flood. Matthew 24:37 tells us “But as the days of Noah were, so shall also the coming of the son of man be.”
“The Lord saw how great mans wickedness on the earth had become, and that every inclination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil all the time. The Lord was grieved that he had made man on the earth, and his heart was filled with pain. So the Lord said, “I will wipe mankind, whom I have created, from the face of the earth-men and animals, and creatures that move along the ground, and birds of the air-for I am grieved that I have made them.” Genesis 6:5-7
Life as my generation has known, is in the past. We now face a difficult and challenging road ahead. It would be a difficult task today to raise children in such a corrupt society. With little or no support from the powers that be. A challenge that we parents must be spiritually prepared for. It is more vital today then ever before that we have a personal relationship with Christ.
“Love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your strength. These commandments that I give you today, are to be upon your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lay down and when you get up” Deuteronomy 6:4-7
“Rise up during the night and cry out. Pour out your hearts like water to the Lord. Lift up your hands to him in prayer, pleading for your children.” Lamentations 2:19
As christian parents, we must oppose the tide of evil. Living our lives as a reflection of God’s kingdom. Today, It’s so necessary to stay in Gods word more then ever before. God, in his infinite grace is the one steadfast truth that we can hold onto. In a world which is uncertain, and constantly changing, God does not change. He remains the same. We have the promise of eternal life with our Lord. Are you in need of hope today? Choose to remember God’s faithfulness, love, and mercy, despite the despair and destruction around you.
“God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea, though its waters roar and foam and the mountains quake with their surging.” Psalm 46:1-3
