DRAMA Team

We love to perform skits from the Bible because it brings these scriptures to life. Creative communications in all its forms (i.e., drama, singing, dancing, crafting/art, music, poetry, photography) is a terrific God-given gift that can make the gospel and all of the Holy Scriptures easier, wonderful, and fascinating to watch. We’re focusing on performing stories of women in the bible and we have some very talented ladies in our ministry and so we hope you’ll be blessed listening to some of the skits we’ve performed.

The Drama team performs the 3rd Tuesday of each month at our Soul Sisters Get-togethers! Come and join us!

“The Woman at the Well”Read John Chapter 4 (performed January 15, 2013)

skit_004pictured l to r: Kim McDougal (The woman at the well) and Tena Chain (“Tatitha”)

Synopsis: The woman at the well is a Samaritan woman and cut off from the rest of the women for her loose lifestyle. She normally would go to the well to draw water in the hottest part of the day because of this shunning she experienced. The day she went to the well, she ran into Jesus who told her all about herself. She believed in Him so much so that she left her bucket at the well, ran back to the town and told everyone about Jesus. This is our interpretation of her running back to her town and telling one of the women who normally doesn’t talk to her.

“Ruth Resiminscing.” – Read the book of Ruth (performed by Karen Bice February 19, 2013)

Synopsis: The story of Ruth is full of such passion, love, and courage. Ruth was a lady from the land of Moab that had married one of Naomi’s sons. Ruth and Naomi’s husbands died  and so did the husband of Naomi’s other daughter-in-law, Orpah. Naomi was going to part ways with her daughter-in-laws to return back to Bethelem. Ruth, however, refused to go back and begs to stay with Ruth even converts to Naomi’ faith.  Ruth says, “Entreat me not to leave you, or to turn back from following you; For wherever you go, I will go; And wherever you lodge, I will lodge; Your people shall be my people, and your God, my God. Where you die, I will die, and there will I be buried. The LORD do so to me, and more also, if anything but death parts you and me.” . Ruth and Naomi return back only to a terrible life of poverty until Ruth meets Boaz. In our skit, Ruth is elderly and at home telling her story to a friend who comes to visit her.
