Praying to God

by Sis. Kim McDougal

Passage: Ephesians 3:12 AMP
“In Whom, because of our faith in Him, we dare to have the boldness (courage and confidence) of free access (an unreserved approach to God with freedom and without fear

Prayer to the Christian is like water to the body. It’s needed everyday, it refreshes the soul and no other drink can cleanse the body the way water does. Same with prayer. Prayer is our direct connection to the Lord and it’s essential that we don’t neglect it. If you neglect to drink enough water, your body will eventually suffer for it. Again, same with prayer. Without talking to the Lord, our soul will eventually weaken.

Is hard to pray? Honestly, it can be depending on what you think about God. Perhaps you have prayed about something for a long time and still there’s been no answer. Or, maybe you’ve never prayed before and you don’t know what to say? The answer to both scenarios is this: (a) trust in the Lord and not in yourself because He is the only one who understands and has the power to change things and (b) He wants you to be real with Him. You don’t have to put up a pretense with Him. Be yourself, talk with Him as you would a good friend. Actually, He loves for us to talk to Him.

Prayer is powerful but also remember that it is God’s perfect timing when He answers so don’t be discouraged if you’ve been praying for something a long time. So did many of the early Christians in the Bible. They believed in the Lord. And so can you.
